This is one of the few Barbara Michaels books that I own but have not read before. I know I started it several times but couldn't get caught up in it.
It's got just about everything I like in a contemporary gothic: a spooky old house on the coast of Cornwall, young American heiress who thinks she'll sell the house and move on, multiple quirky potential love interests. But there's something about this one that doesn't click, and I'm not sure what it is.
I've persevered this far, a little past half way, and I can't say it's getting any better. But we'll see.
It was either this, or I'd start sneaking into the Halloween Bingo books!
