The Moonstone - Wilkie Collins

Having just finished The Law and the Lady, I felt confident that I had Wilkie Collins' style pegged.  Later Victorian, slightly sensationalistic, perhaps a bit more dramatic than the fiction of a century later.

All of that may end up being true, but what Collins did with The Moonstone was to offer an entirely different voice for his first person narrator than in the other book.

I have a feeling this is going to be good.  And no, I haven't hit Wikipedia to find out how this one ends.  I don't cheat!  ;-)
